If you’re planning to cough out a lot of dough on the Samsung Galaxy S4, you must be wondering if it is easy to repair just in case something goes wrong. Fortunately, you no longer have to test this out yourself. iFixit has done this for you.original

According to the repair expert, “The battery can be replaced in seconds, without any tools,” “Very easy to open and access internal components,” “There are only 11 screws in the entire device, all standard Phillips #0 (no proprietary or security sizes),” “Most of the smaller components are modular and can be replaced individually, but several of them are adhered in place, increasing replacement difficulty,” “The glass is fused to both the display and the display frame, increasing repair costs,” and “You’ll have to go through the entire phone in order to replace the front panel, since everything is built into the back of it.”

In the end, iFixit has given the Samsung Galaxy S4 a “Repairability Score” of “8 out of 10,” which makes it worth the investment.

iFixit has also given the HTC One a tear down. It gave the Taiwanese phone maker’s new flagship a Repairability Score of 1 out of 10, saying the handset shattered their “dreams of widespread repairability.”
